Register and Check Up Your Pregnancy at KK and UMRA

For those yang first time pregnant tu..mesti tertanya2..
Bila nak start check up...
Nak check up kat mana...

Through I punye experience....
Masa first pregnancy tu...macam mana I tau I pregnant??
My menstrual cycle boleh dikatakan normal...
Normal means...every month mesti period and beza dalam 1 to 2 days je...
Just after married, the next month tu tak period....
Ape lagi...cuak makk.....
Pi beli pregnancy test kat Guardian ngan my BFF and check tang tang tu jugak.....
Which UPT (UPT stands for Urine Pregnancy Test) I bought?
Any brand would do...
So, buat la UPT...and guess what.....POSITIVE
Ok, when the result shows it is +ve, I mula la panic tak tau nak buat apa....(poyo jek kan)

What to do when you know that you've got a bun in the oven aka pregnant?
Drop by to any nearest KK (Klinik Kesihatan) to confirm it and boleh register terus your pregnancy di Klinik Kesihatan...
Bile nak pergi confirm kan?
It is up to you bile2 you nak pergi...but the check up will start at the third month for the first timer...

Macam I, first pregnancy I pergi register je kat Klinik Kesihatan and buat BUKU MERAH tu...
But I did the check up at UMRA, tak pernah pon pergi Klinik Kesihatan..
And, every time I went to UMRA for check up, the doctor will update the BUKU MERAH tu...provided we have to give it to the doc buku tu, if not the doc wont update it...
Second pregnancy ni, tak pergi pon register kat KK since dah ade record kat UMRA kan...

So, for the first pregnancy, I register both at KK and UMRA during my third month of pregnancy...
Kindly note that, for the first timer, if you want to give birth at UMRA, you have to register and start your check up before your 5th month of pregnancy ye, after bulan ke 5, UMRA will not accept if I am not mistaken....

Bile dah register kat KK and UMRA,
They both will advise date of the next check up...
Tiba date untuk chekc up, org KK tu akan call as a reminder, if you decide nk buat kat private je, then cakap je yang you nak buat check up kat private, they will understand and wont call anymore...
Ade jugak mommies yang buat check up kat both KK and private...
Sebab, kat KK boleh dapat ubat free, while kat private you have to pay for the medicine....
Cuma, if you go to KK, you have to wait LIKE FOREVER la..hehehehe....

So, what is the medical care given during our monthly check up?

Briefly, at UMRA
3mo - scan and confirm pregnancy (single or twin)
4mo - scan (tak datang pon takpe)
5mo - scan and start taking medicine (obimin etc)
6mo - scan and cocok kancing gigi
7mo - scan and check diabetics, start taking urine, and buat detail scan on the baby
8mo - scan and start to check up biweekly (doc dah start monitor closely)
9mo - scan and check jantung baby, doc dah brief bile mau bersalin and the procedure bagai....

This is for normal pregnancy, meaning for those yang takde kencing manis or darah tinggi....
For yang special case tu, I'm not sure what did they go thru during their monthly check up....

Begitu jugak botol susu...

Things that I will consider when choosing a feeding milk are...

1. Botol tu mestilah wide neck...MESTI!! Sebab saya takde susu dispenser, saya letak susu in a large container terus. When I have to prepare susu for Aisyah and kene pulak time tu dalam kete yang keadaannya tak berapa nak stabil tu...can u imagine kalau botol tu narrow neck?? Abis la tumpah segala milk powder itu (because I am a clumsy mommy). Thus, I need wide neck bottle supaya senang buat susu tanpa tumpah2. Dah nama pon WIDE kan..kalau tumpah jugak...no comment lah..heee

2. Puting or nipple nya mesti la senang untuk didapati di pasaraya2 and murah...I used to use botol susu TT (Tommee Tippee), sepasang puting TT costs us about rm23. What the .. mahal gile kot for just a pair of nipple. Sbb I have a habit kerap tukar puting feeding bottle. Apparently because of the hygienic reason la kan. So for me, nk spend rm23 biweekly is just not worth a penny...heee

3. Scale kat bottle tu mestilah clear. For instance, botol susu MAM tu, nampak jelas scale ounce or ml while TT tu kan tak nampak. Itu la what I mean by a clear scale. Kalau scale nye clear, tak payah la kita nk susah2 teropong, dah isi air banyak mana kan....pastu nnt nk kene check at eye level lagi so that takde ralat paralaks (cisss, poyo betul..ingat ini nak isi chemical untuk eksperimen sains ke???hahahaha)

Kindly note that emergency Caesarian case will be charged differently (like what happened to me 2 yrs back)...

In 2012, cost for LSCS is RM 2999 and when I have to undergo emergency LCSC, it cost me RM3500...

I took 2 bedded room (non sharing)...

Just to share yang Executive Single Room at UMRA tak berapa besar and for me better take 2 bedded non sharing sebab nanti orang yang menunggu kita tu boleh tido kat katil yang lagi satu...

You still have your own privacy plus spacious room and extra bed...

Compared if you opt for Single Bed...yang space constrain...and no extra bed...

Bersalin at UMRA

I read a few blogs that write about giving birth kat UMRA ni memang akan di czer
And surprisingly my school friend yang aku budget diaorg mmg xtau pasal UMRA (sbb semuanya successful and they go to PCMC and hosp gah gah tu) tu pon cakap the same thing about UMRA

IMHO, czer or normal delivery tu semua adalah rezeki...and we have to accept it....provided you have tried your best.
Try your best meaning, before bersalin..read a lot and gain as much as possible info about pregnancy, solat, habluminallah wa habluminannas (jaga perhubungan dengan Allah dan manusia), berdoa byk2, baca al-quran, exercise, enroll pregnancy class, familiarize yourself with scientific terms regarding pregnancy, jaga makan etc etc

Two years back, I was one of the patient yang bersalin secara czer di UMRA
Why I was Caesar? Sebab my darling baby hampir lemas but the dilation was only 2 cm
And the doc made a decision to go for czer

Bila my makcik2, a few frens and cousin2 dpt tau I czer..
Dan disaat itu, bertubi2 lah soalan dari umat manusia sekeliling saya
Knp doc tak cuba induce dilation
Knp doc tak vacuum
Knp doc tak bg epi
Knp doc tak tunggu

Dah baby tu nak lemas, ko nak cakap ape kan...
Doc akan tunggu and cuba untuk normal delivery if the mother yang sakit or ade problem lain..
But when it comes to baby, doc akan buat apa saja untuk save the baby...

Sekarang, tengah pregnant second child and I still opt for UMRA to deliver my darling baby ni
And of course, at UMRA, the policy is, first child czer, second child definitely UMRA will go for czer..
Simply because UMRA do not want to take the risk of rupture on the scar of the uterus...
For those yang nak try normal for the 2nd child, you can go to other hospital bersalin...

Banyak je hosp yg offer VBAC a.k.a. bersalin secara normal after czer...
Apepun it is all up to your comfortability...
Yang nak keluarkan baby nye adalah kita...
Bukan husband, bukan mak, bukan MIL, bukan our aunties, or our cousin...
Think of your comfort when it comes to nak bersalin...

Review BabyZen Yoyo and Halford Pramette S8

After considering whether shud we get a stroller or not...

Finally we decided to buy BabyZen Yoyo for Aisyah...

Sebenarnya Aisyah dah ade stroller...it is Halford Pramette S8...

But, memandangkan stroller itu sangat lah bulky...

We bought her another stroller...

Bagi I, it is actually wasting money to buy 2 3 stroller for a child but sometimes it is inevitable...

Why are we not continuing using Halford?

1. Halford is a bit bulky

2. Susah nak maneuver if your baby dah berat, I mean masa umur Aisyah less than 1yo, Halford tu senang nak maneuver, but as she grew up and gaining weight...aiyooo susahnya mau maneuver.

3. Space consuming and heavy...dah nama pon bulky kan...mesti la berat dan besar...

and why do we bought BabyZen?

1. Light of course 

2. Whenever Aisyah tak nak seat on the stroller, we can fold and carry it instead of tolak je stroller tu 

3. Senang nak maneuver, especially kat tempat yang sempit

4. Space saving

5. Sangat senang nak fold and unfold it

At the age of 2yo, Aisyah bukan la nak sangat seat on the stroller bile pegi jalan2, but when she is sleepy...and we are in the middle of looking for something important at the shopping mall...stroller is essential at that point of time.

To be honest NOPE..

Tapi hubby always remind me that anak itu rezeki dr Allah...

And I accept that..

Cuma, in terms of monthly check up...we are not seriously adhere to the date of appointment given by UMRA..pendek kate selalu lambat-lambatkan...

Tak tahu la ape consequence nya...

Doc kat UMRA tu tak say anything pon...I take it as OK la kan..

2nd Child
